This is regarding one of your posts that you reblogged, but... isn't a criterion of anorexia nervousa, according to the DSM V, that the individual is at a significantly low weight and refuse to maintain a normal or healthy body weight? It changed from the DSM IV to not include that a person has to be at or under 85% of their ideal body weight, but regardless, it sounds like if a person has to appear 'thin' to some extent.

( Sorry it took me so long to respond, this is actually a very good question and I wanted to be able to give a complete answer, I’ve just been a bit busy lately )

While the DMS V does include being significantly underweight as part of its criteria for anorexia, emphasis should be placed on the portion of that criteria that includes a refusal to try and maintain a heathy weight. Because honestly a persons weight will depend on how long someone has been anorexic & what they are doing.

I can tell you that I was never “thin” or underweight. I actually weigh less now, than I did when I wasn’t eating. Not to mention my mother found out about my anorexia early on & did everything in her power to put an end to it so I never got to a point were my weight loss was visibly unhealthy. I have also known many people who were struggling with an eating disorder, some of them had been doing so for years, but you wouldn’t have known it just by looking at them.

When it comes down to it, eating disorders are just like any other mental illness. Certain traits and symptoms are common but that doesn’t mean everyone has them.

The cutest!

Swear to god, some guys are terrified that girls are faking common interests to impress them and act really hostile towards anyone they even SUSPECT of doing such a thing

but then they turn around and fake a whole friendship in the hopes of getting sex out of girls, and get mad at them when it doesn’t work

and they super do not see the irony in that
